Bernice Mardella "Marti" Ripberger

Bernice Mardella Ripberger, 87, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2018.

Marti was born May 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Robert and Carrie (Sanders) Gibbs. She married Joseph Charles Ripberger on October 14, 1968.

After completing high school she went to work for L.S. Ayres where she was head of the photography department. Marti then went to work for her husband in 1970 at J.C. Ripberger Construction Company where she was president from 1993-1997 before she retired. Marti loved life, was a very hard worker and a generous person.

Survivors include her son Wiliam (Judy) Ripberger; grandchildren Jody Warstler (Mike Albahor), Mary Jane (Paul) Gordon, William (Sue) Ripberger Jr.; 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; a brother Paul David Gibbs; a sister Victoria Wilson; a daughter in law Shirley Ripberger and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Ripberger; her son Phil Ripberger; brothers Kenneth Gibbs and Robert Gibbs Jr.; sisters Mary Ann Heinlein, Helen Linn and Nellie Cordell.

Family and friends will gather Thursday October 4, 2018 for visitation from 10am until time of services at 1pm at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St, Zionsville, IN 46077. Burial will immediately follow at Zionsville Cemetery. Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care of Zionsville has been entrusted with her arrangements. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
